Redmi Note 8 now receiving a stable MIUI 12 update. Check below for the full post
Early reports have it that the next update that will arrive on Redmi Note 8 would be Android 10, but it seems that report was referring to the Chinese units. A new update just started arriving for Redmi Note 8 users in India and it’s just a patch update. Meanwhile, the update is arriving with a version number – MIUI 11.0.5.0 PCOINXM – and weighs 400MB.

Thus far, the new update available for Redmi Note 8 – MIUI 11.0.5.0 PCOINXM – is for the Indian users. As usual, it’s a staged rollout and will take some time before arriving for everyone. Nevertheless, you can check the Updater app and see if the update has arrived on your device.
At this time, we can only confirm the safety of the update, and there isn’t any issue reported thus far. Regarding other changes that are arriving with the update, we can’t verify any of them at the moment. However, it didn’t arrive with Android 10, according to Alvin Tse, Head of Xiaomi products in Indonesia, the company will release Android 10 for Redmi Note 8 in July. With that, we expect the update to arrive with MIUI 12.
