During the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro presentation, Google made a huge announcement. They promised seven years of support, starting with that latest flagship phone. It’s unclear how these phones will hold up after seven years, but we are sure the battery life will drop. It makes sense to let users know when to replace their device battery, and like Apple, Google will bring battery health to Android.

Battery health on Android

It is easy to know the battery health of Apple iPhones. The features help users know when to replace their battery and make better judgments when purchasing a used iPhone. Of course, Android doesn’t have such a feature, but since smartphone makers now offer seven years of support, there’s no better time to start showing battery health on Android.

Interestingly, battery health on Android will show more details, including if the battery on your device is factory-fitted or if it has been replaced before. Other details are manufacture date and cycle count, which are already available on Pixel phones under Settings>>About phone>>Battery information.

Meanwhile, it’s unclear all that will be displayed on the battery health screen on Android. The feature is not yet live, but thanks to Google News on Telegram, we have an idea. The page will show the state of health (percentage charge the battery can hold compared to when it was new). Battery serial number and part status will also be displayed on the page.

Unfortunately, there is no news on when Google plans to roll out Battery Health on Android. Reports suggest it will come with Android 15 and if that is the case, we expect other Smartphone markers to adopt it. Hopefully, we will learn more in the coming days, and you might want to follow our social media platforms to remain updated.
