Google recently released the January 2025 security patch update to stable users, but those in the beta program are getting the latest patch with the Android QPR2 beta 2.1 update. The build comes with bug fixes and system improvements.
Before the last Feature Drop that arrived in December, Google was already working on the next platform release. The latest release is a follow-up to the one that arrived in December. It’s available for those in the beta program and resolves a few bugs they might be encountering.
Aside from big fixes and system improvements, the update has pushed the Android security patch level to January 2024. We understand all eligible phones, from the Pixel 6 to the Pixel 9, are getting the upgrade. Of course, the Pixel Tablet and Pixel Fold are receiving the upgrade.
Android 15 QPR2 beta 2.1 update changelog
- Fixed several issues that sometimes caused a device to freeze, crash, or restart unexpectedly. (Issue #380500068, Issue #381894854, Issue #378856187, Issue #384447026, Issue #384885640, Issue #385056337, Issue #385126181)
- Fixed an issue where the Emoji Workshop options opened when selecting wallpapers from other categories in system settings. (Issue #384629413)
- Fixed various other issues that were impacting system stability and connectivity.
