Finally, Xiaomi starts pushing the Global Mi 10T and 10T Pro MIUI 12.5 update. It was the European models that first received the update after that Chinese release. Shortly it was released in India and has since made its way to Indonesia. That was surprising as the global variants were waiting all this while. Xiaomi has since suspended the Android One program. The move was probably due to the buggy updates, but that hasn’t stopped the monthly security patch builds seeding. Besides, only the Xiaomi Android One phones with active support are the ones getting updated monthly. The ones running MIUI get updated quarterly, which is always due for a change. Perhaps, Xiaomi security patch updates are released every one to three months, but confusing when it comes to Android OS updates. That’s because, new MIUI version isn’t related to the Android upgrade, which makes it difficult to know if your Xiaomi phone is eligible for a new OS update. It’s only a few weeks away before Google starts pushing the stable Android 12 update to its Pixel phones.
