Here’s the crux of the matter: a clue has been discovered and it’s linked to the Google Pixel 8 series camera section. The Big G, Google, confirmed that the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be bringing in the best photo and video quality yet on Pixel and no doubt there are some camera features in this series(including display, battery, storage and others) that makes it better than it’s predecessor, Google Pixel 6 series.
However, the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 6 series both house the Samsung ISOCELL GN1 sensor in terms of hardware which makes the “best picture and video quality” not too astonishing – although still amazing. It has been tipped that this sensor might be changing for the Google Pixel 8 series.

Xda developer, Kuba Wojciechowski, spotted strings of code in the Google Camera go app and it seems the brand is working on a whole new feature, staggered HDR support. The feature will help take pictures in different exposure settings while allowing for faster capture times and reducing the probability of blurred images.
The Google Pixel 7 series’ Samsung ISOCELL GN1 sensor does not support this feature so it seems the feature will be debuting on the next generation of the Pixel series, the Google Pixel 8 series. Meanwhile, the Samsung ISOCELL GN2 sensor was found to support this feature so it could be that the Pixel 8 series will get this camera hardware.
In addition to the whole staggered HDR support shenanigans, the developer noticed a codename TangorPro which is said to be the Pixel tablet Pro he had spotted before. Oh well, we’re not seeing the Google Pixel 8 series until next year so let’s not count our chickens before they hatch.
