Another smartphone for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Series, the Redmi Note 12R will be debuting very soon. Although the Pro version of this smartphone was released months ago – with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 – it’s time to have a vanilla model.
Features of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12R
The Redmi Note 12R (model number 23076RA4BC) has made an appearance on the China Telecom website, revealing some interesting details about the device. It is rumored to come with an improved chipset, with expectations that Qualcomm will market it as the “Snapdragon 4 Gen 2” processor. The chipset is said to be manufactured on a 4nm Samsung node, offering enhanced performance compared to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. The phone can be customized with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, and it also includes a microSD card slot for expandable storage.
According to the information provided by the carrier, the Redmi Note 12R features a large 6.79″ FHD+ display, making it slightly larger than the 6.67″ display of the Redmi Note 12R Pro. The camera setup is reported to be basic, consisting of a 50MP primary module and a 2MP assist camera (the Pro variant has a similar camera setup).
In terms of dimensions, the Redmi Note 12R measures 168.6 x 76.3 x 8.17mm and weighs 199g. It is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, although the charging speed has not been specified. The phone includes a USB-C connector and retains the 3.5mm headphone jack, offering convenience for audio connectivity.
According to China Telecom, the Redmi Note 12R is set to be released in China on June 30, and it will be the first device to feature the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. The phone will be available in three color options: Midnight Black, Sky Fantasy, and Time Blue, as shown in the carrier’s photos.
