Samsung was the last smartphone maker to start rolling out the latest Android OS, which is based on the One UI 7. The delay should probably ensure the update rolls out with a few bug, which they have unsurprisingly managed to do, but users have been reporting an unusual battery life.

Battery drain issue on One UI 7 beta

One thing with a cross-sectional Android OS upgrade is that it takes time for system apps to adapt. That alone is enough to cause overheating and consequently battery drain. According to the early adopters of the One UI 7 beta build, the first wave has reduced their battery life, while the second release fails to address that.

Interestingly, it seems the first build has a better battery life. According to reports, the battery drain issue worsened after the second One UI 7 beta release. Your device isn’t supposed to consume substantial battery while idle, but Samsung phones does that since the One UI 7 beta. It’s become a concern when your battery drops 6% in 16 minutes, according to reports.

The good news is that Samsung has acknowledged the issue and is already working on a fix. You can help in a swift fix by reporting the problem using the Samsung Members app. The company requests that you submit system log data within 15 minutes of experiencing the issue to help them investigate further. We expect a fix to arrive in the third build, but that depends on whether the company is able to resolve the issue.
