Losing an iPhone can be a nightmare for anyone. While the Find My app can help locate an iPhone if it’s turned on and connected to the internet, it can be a challenge to locate a dead, turned-off or offline iPhone. However, there are several methods you can use to locate your iPhone even if it’s not connected to the internet or if the battery is dead. In this blog post, we will discuss the different ways to find a dead, turned-off, or offline iPhone.

How to Find a Dead, Turned Off, or Offline iPhone

Locate your dead, turned off, or offline iPhone

1. Use the Find My app

The Find My app is a great tool to locate an iPhone that’s turned on and connected to the internet. However, it can also help locate a dead or offline iPhone. Here’s how:

Step 1: Open the Find My app on another iOS device or log in to iCloud.com on a computer.

Step 2: Select the lost device from the list of devices.

Step 3: If the device is turned off or offline, click on “Notify When Found” to receive a notification when it’s located.

Step 4: Once the device is turned on and connected to the internet, you’ll receive a notification with its location.

2. Use Family Sharing

If you have Family Sharing set up, you can ask another family member to help locate your lost iPhone.

Step 1: Ask another family member to open the Find My app on their iPhone or iPad.

Step 2: Tap on the “Devices” tab and select the lost iPhone from the list of devices.

Step 3: If the device is turned off or offline, click on “Notify When Found” to receive a notification when it’s located.

Step 4: Once the device is turned on and connected to the internet, you’ll receive a notification with its location.

3. Check with your carrier

Your carrier may be able to help locate your lost iPhone if it’s turned off or offline.

Step 1: Contact your carrier and provide them with the serial number of your iPhone.

Step 2: They may be able to locate the last known location of the device using their network.

4. Use Google Timeline

If you have enabled location tracking on your iPhone and have a Google account, you can use Google Timeline to locate your iPhone. Here’s how:

Step 1: Log in to your Google account on a computer.

Step 2: Go to Google Maps and click on the menu icon.

Step 3: Click on “Your Timeline” and select the date and time when you last had your iPhone.

Step 4: If your iPhone was turned on and connected to the internet at that time, you should be able to see its last known location on the map.

Wrapping Up

In conclusion, losing an iPhone can be a frustrating experience, but there are several ways to locate it even if it’s turned off, offline, or dead. By using the Find My app, Family Sharing, contacting your carrier, using Google Timeline, or asking Siri, you increase your chances of locating your lost iPhone.
