It happens that when the lock/unlock sound is enabled, the sound comes on a few times in a short burst when the screen is off. And maybe that’s the reason why Google hasn’t said anything about it, but with more people complaining about the slow fingerprint bug, the company will look at it. Supposedly, turning on the Always-on display fixed the issue for some users of Google Pixel 4a. But that means you have to sacrifice battery life for a responsive fingerprint scanner.
