The Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5 is another iteration of MIUI 12.5. Xiaomi released the current version a few months ago, at the launch of the Pad 5 series. At that time, we believed the update will be exclusive to premium phones. It turns out that all Xiaomi phones with active support are expected to receive the update, and luckily, Xiaomi has just made it easy by confirming its phones that will not receive Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5.

Unlike other OEMs, Xiaomi hardly releases a comprehensive list of its phones eligible for a new iteration of MIUI. The company takes the batch approach, meaning only devices receiving the update are a time frame is released. That didn’t change with the current edition of MIUI, in which the third batch, and probably the last batch, was released a couple of days ago.

The rollout has already started in China, with the global release to start soon. And while many Xiaomi fans are waiting for the update, the company has announced that some of its phones will not receive the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5. These phones include Redmi 7 and Redmi Note 7 series phones. Also, the Redmi Y3 is included in the list, but that’s not surprising as it didn’t receive MIUI 12.5.

Xiaomi didn’t say why these phones will not receive the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5, but we think it is about compatibility. Perhaps, they are not compatible with the build, and it might cause some problems if released. However, we expect the company to try and make some adjustments as we have seen in the past. Hopefully, they’ll release the update in the future unless they’re left out because their support has ended.

  • Mi A3
  • POCO F1

Note: these phones are global and not Chinese versions.
